KITE SURFING PAGE:Anyone who has previously visited www.cabarete.org will know that it was a mess, that lay unfinished for a couple of years. This was one of the 'unfinished' pages. During that time I spoke with the owners of a few kitesurf businesses, asking for a write up of the history of kitesurfing in Cabarete and perhaps make this page more interesting to folk who actually surf. Unfortunately, this never happened. I'd guess that busy lives in an unhurried town, where mañana has a sense of urgency has resulted in no-one producing anything... So I just hope you enjoy a selection of my photos taken from Cabarete Beach over the years. Most of them are kites, with an occasional pretty girl just for balance! There are 150 images.  Every February there is a kite-surfing competition to raise funds for children in the Dominican Republic. If you are in the Dominican Republic at this time, please support this competition and the children that they help... as well as having a fun time! Last year this event raised more than US$12,000 for local children's charities, so see if you can have a good time and help beat this target! |
