CabareteBars & RestaurantsPomodoro's. Pomodoro's is an Italian pizza & pasta place. So 'proper' pizza's then. It's at the end of a quaint little alley way that leads up to the main street and is the most western of the 'obvious' restaurants on the main beach in Cabarete. There are a couple of other places to eat if you walk a little further, but as of January '09 I've not eaten there, although the menu at the Hotel Villa Taina looks good and reasonably priced, so definately one to try next visit.
Apparently, the owners of Pomodoro's are the driving force behind the 'jazz on the beach' festival in Cabarete. We were coincidentally there in Nov '08 during the festival and the whole town was bouncing.
A huge stage was erected on the beach at the Pomodoro end with many local and international jazz singers and musicians playing the night away. I'm by no means a jazz aficionado, but I thoroughly enjoyed being part of the beach party. I don't know if it is always the first week in November, but if you are planning a trip to Cabarete and like live music, it may be worth your while booking around this time... and booking a table at Pomodoro's while you are at it!Non-beach places review menu below.
