Board meeting today ?

Postby redrobo » Thu May 01, 2025 11:36 am

Let's hope that the Board meeting today goes ahead as indicated and that by the end of the day DA is able to continue knowing that he has a budget for our return to the National league.

I wonder if Jason will be involved by a video link and more importantly that there is confirmation that a deal has been completed.... :?: :?: :?:

Not wanting much am I.... :o ;)

Let's face it you don't even believe that papers have been submitted despite the Trust saying they have.

Who has told the Trust that "papers have been submitted"?

The Trust said...
The EFL said...
"Talks" are ongoing.

As far as I'm aware, the EFL did not say to the Trust, that all the required papers have been submitted. I'll be delighted to be given evidence to the contrary.

So you are correct, I don't believe that ALL the necessary documents have been submitted to the EFL.

Given the tiny number of season tickets sold so far and the ongoing delay in sale, the Board won't be able to confirm the budget for Derek's next season players. Next Monday, all players not under contract will be let go (again!), leaving Derek to work on "promises" to bring in new players, again with the hope that they'll get contracts "some time" in the Summer, like last year. Jason can't give assurances as to the money he'll need to pump in to pay a viable player budget. The latest accounts show the Board's projections of up to £1.6m loss, and that was before the NAPM campaign and collapse of season ticket sales and before the relegation, and loss of the TV monies, sponsorships etc. It could well be that the club is set to make a £2/£3m loss for 25/6 season with a similar player's budget and Jason won't be funding that. So Derek will be waiting until the sale is concluded before he knows what his budget will be.

Graham confirmed on Beyond that Panjab had submitted what sounded like a substantial amount of documents the other week and that the EFL are reviewing them, and should hopefully have a response/feedback soon.

'Necessary documents' etc is a bit of a tough thing to pin down. I doubt there's a tick box where you have to to give documents x, y and z etc, the EFL will have to evaluate what they've been given and decide whether or not they're happy with it, and whether or not there are further things they need clarifying. Graham himself did say it's likely that the EFL will still come back with a couple more questions.

How I've interpreted it is that Panjab have submitted documents RE information requested from them, and the EFL are reviewing the quality of that information to see if they're happy with it. Does make you realise how much they've upped their game compared to when Lemos took over.

IMO we are lucky Derek is still around. We’ve had one hell of a crap season and altho we all know about Dereks ways it’s not all his fault, in fact very little is on this occasion and again only my opinion but fook him about with the budget or lack of it over these next 2 weeks and he will walk & I for one wouldn’t blame him, he’s not being unreasonable asking for his budget to plan and have a fighting chance. This season he’s managed with both hands tied behind his back as well as being blind folded yet hardly ever moaned about it but defended the players who he knew were trying there best

The ball is in Panjab Warriors court, they have the preferred bid and paper work in with the EFL but in the mean time our stay away owner, who cannot or will not fund our Club to the level required to have a reasonable successful season will have to commit to funding the Club and that is a worry.

I think the sale of season tickets seems a bit slow, I know it’s just over a week but there seems to be many fans are waiting to see what unfolds. That to me shows a consensus of feeling towards having no faith in either Whittingham or Panjab Warriors getting the sale done and don’t want to have the proverbial thick stuff being taken out of them.

Morecambe needs stability and the fans clearly want reassurances that things are going to change..

Looking more and more like our future lies in what happens in the next 2 or 3 weeks.

Relationship with the BoDs for a small number of fans has been strained.

To improve matters and to reserect trust in the BoDs now is the ideal time to put out a small appraisal of what was discussed today without going into too much detail.

Hope fully this will happen as a matter of routine.

It’s on Own Website, yesterdays Shimps Trust Meeting, all parties trying to get the sale done in next 5 weeks. Morecambe FC leave EFL on June 7th.

BOD’s think the NAPM campaign will financial hit on the club if it goes on because their is no sale, they understand and respect fans frustrations.

Many other questions answered

This is what you call Sir, a old "Mexican Stand Off"

#NAPM

And we all know Jason Whittingham reads social media.

I won't be misled into buying a season ticket again, so that Leech can bleed Morecambe FC dry.

It’s been commented a couple of times in this thread that season ticket sales have been poor but the club have confirmed that we’ve sold more than this time last year (see todays email from the shrimps trust).

I think you have nailed it on the head with the “Mexican Stand Off” analogy and I also agree with your stance on season tickets. Fed up of being misled and being treated as a fool by the stay away owner. If he cannot fund the club don’t rely on me.
