No, but what about JW not investing in the club in order to please JW's bank balance?

Confirmed by the club via the latest trust minutes that next seasons budget is definitely agreed (regardless of a sale going through) and will be a mid table NL budget. They further confirm that the budget is likely to remain at this level if Panjab do take over… which suggests that Panjab don’t plan to put masssive investment into the playing side (albeit not sure anyone thought they were going to).

Given this confirmation of next seasons budget and the calibre of players we have under contract, I don’t see us getting near the play offs.

Who's talking about Derek?
Clearly Derek wasn't given the funding he was promised meaning relegation was more likely.
Everything I say you seem to have a pop at.
Well it's game on now isn't it?
People take the piss out of you on twitter with the stuff you post on here but I don't lower myself to that kind of stuff.
Maybe have a think why they do it?

I'm still wary about this term....budget confirmation. I don't doubt that it has been agreed between Jason and the Board but it doesn't convince me that the money will be there 100% when it is required. Jason has lied before.....on occasions!

It begged the question, 'why are a couple of Essex pawnbrokers interested in our club' a few years ago. Some things don't change.

The difference between then and now is that back then we were only too thankful that somebody was taking us over after all the trouble we had been having. Now we are a lot more streetwise and rightly trust no one.

Budget helps but it's not everything

Didn't we get promoted to league 1 with the lowest budget

Let's wait and see till the season starts and see what type of squad we get

Agreed, Budget was everything to some on here though when JB was in charge.

Considering he's been able to retain the players he wants and actually has time to recruit and plan for next season. I'd be disappointed if Derek couldn't challenge playoffs with a mid table budget.

Genuinely believe we will do?far better than expected by some. Have to remain positive that all the off field problems will also be sorted.

Quite positive that we could get involved in the play offs. Forest Green have done it so no reason why we can't follow their example.

Don't spoil his dream :D

Having said that I seem to remember that it was when rr was on holiday last year that Derek surprised us all with his return so who knows what good news awaits when rr goes this year?

If we genuinely have a mid table budget, some of our better L2 players and a bit of stability, I see no reason why Derek cannot get a squad cable of the playoffs. Maybe we just forget about the sale. It's been going on years and in that period we've actually had some good moments.

I would take a midtable finish and build for the season after. Stability off the pitch
Need Jason to sell asap

Radio silence from the Club, the Trust hinted in the May news letter, I heard the ‘sale within two weeks’ rumour last week and are we all going to be caught out on the hop?

Could be a big rush on yearly bird tickets at the Mazuma?

If the EFL gives the go ahead how long will it take Whittingham to hand it over? Has anyone any thoughts on that?

I’ll wait till the ink is dry.
