Stanners

Obviously with the new signings, SMc has no plans for stanners to be first choice, but looking at Torquays games in Feb, he can still do a massive job for us in avoiding the drop despite not playing in a Morecambe shirt

Fixtures from BBC

Torquay v Hereford
Torquay v Stockport
Barnet v Torquay
Torquay v Burton Albion
Torquay v Southend
Cheltenham v Torquay
Accrington Stanley v Torquay

2015: DONE DEALS A couple of lower-league transfer confirmations for you. Southampton boss Nigel Adkins has raided his old club Scunthorpe
to sign striker Jonathan Forte for an undisclosed fee, while down in Devon, Torquay have signed Morecambe midfielder Craig Stanley on loan.

Really can't understand this, however this may finally give a start to Fleming who i think is a class act. This would be my team for tomorrow :

Roche
Parrish McCready Charnock Capaldi

Hurst Fleming Scott/ Drummond Wilson

Shuker Spencer

With Hendrie to come on in the 70th minute not the 83rd

Yet they still haven't mentioned that we signed Holdsworth and Hurst, typical

An absolute joke of a decision. Someone told me on Saturday that Stanners has played his last game for Morecambe.

Apparently if he enjoys it at Torquay he can stay there.

Arguably our most influential player and for me, one of the players who puts his all into every performance. Another case of Sammy falling out with him? Probably.

Has too many personal grudges. This is the final straw IMO, I want him out.

A complete joke.

Thing is Stanners tells it how it is and Sammy can't handle that.

then any manager who cannot take advice fom his staff is not worth having it's alright being manager, but when your staff knows what works and what dont thats when you have to be a big man and say "perhaps your right"

stanners is a team player
ok so he may play sideways and he does have a bit of a short fuse but i would have him as captain for his passion and commitment

time for sammy to exit stage right before we go down

Most assists this season:

Mark Duffy - 6
Craig Stanley - 5
Chris Shuker - 3
Paul Mullin - 2

so thats the top 2 assists gone ???
so sammy really does want us to fail
just need to get rid of parrish and baz and thats it all our most consistant performers gone well done sammy

Stanners has been garbage over the last few games but so has Drummond and I certainly wasn't expecting this. Transfer listing him usually brings out the best in him, but not sure what a months loan to Torquay is going to do.

I suspect stanners knew he was on the way out and accordingly has effected his perfomance on the pitch ;)

Sammy's acting like Stalin, eliminatin all those who oppose him.

Seriously though, I dont care if they've had a bust up, we shouldnt be sending one of our best players out on loan. Do we want to be relegated?

Whilst i,m not Sammy's biggest fan, he's the one who will lose his job if things continue as they are. The football this season has been shite and he's brought in two midfielders to try and change it. The books have to balance and nobody is gonna take any of our lesser quality players and pay the wages that are required.
Stanners plays his heart out week in, week out, but i don't think he's a team player, so wouldn't expect it to have too much of an effect on the dressing room.
Let's reserve judgement until after a few games.
"Accrington Stanley" Who are they??????????????

Good post that after we have had chance to pick up the toys from around the pram. The assists from Stanners and Duffy have mainly been from free kicks and corners. Even Will took one or two interesting free kicks. I can only assume we have a Ronaldoesque type player who is waiting in the wings to take the dead ball kicks.

Torquay will need some inspiration as their top scorer Benyon has left in his helicopter to Swindon

I'd rather not speculate to what may have happened, its a loss for the team, club and fans.

Good luck to Stanners and hopefully we will see him back very soon.

sorry cragbankshrimp, but to say stanners is not a team player is wrong, he has had a few below par matches lately, as has drummers, a bit of rest or rotation yes, but shipping out, no, who now takes the free kicks and corners :?:

A family club this size needs to make loyalty a 2 way street, sammy needs to think long and hard coz the team are doing a good impression of eleven blokes that do not want to play for him.
