I agree with this. Conlon isn’t a bad player but the left back position looked like our weak link last season so this is quite a rational signing. I’m sure we’ll also sign a right back and a couple of centre backs before the season starts.

Conlan does give the wide players too much room to cross. Looks like Derek has addressed that problem. I would love to see either Tanner or Cooney for right back. And be nice if we can sign Phillips for midfield![]()

Burnley have offered both new contracts so the best we could hope for are loan deals.

...but Tanner is a free agent having been released by United. Unless there is a lot of money involved, I can't imagine him rushing to Salford City after not even making the bench with them. He'd be a cracking signing for me.
