The EFL have changed the substitutions allowed during a game to 5 for the rest of the season.

Does it benefit the bigger clubs with stronger squads or will all managers be in favour?

Clubs like Exeter will benefit slightly as they can change like for like with some handy lads in their squad, I suppose it could help us too if we have everyone fit, but it will even itself out over time I suppose.
Interesting what the big lads will say up in Moneyball league??

Depends on the strength of those who are on the subs bench.

For us I do believe that this season we have the strongest subs bench than many former seasons and that it could benefit us as DA to my mind is a very canny Scot who uses the bench to its utmost at critical times in a match.

I can well remember as other golden oldies can the days of only 11 outfield players and no subs on the bench.

Then the introduction of a sub caused outcry at first and now we are talking about 5....

How times have changed..some would say 'and not for the good of the game....'

Championship clubs can name 9 subs and use 5 where as 1&2 can name 7 and use 5.

I feel the advantage to the better squad increases as you go up the leagues, almost like NFL with Offence and Defence line ups. I can't see the likes of Sheff UTD and Burnley being keen on the idea.
