Heard a loud jet flying fast and low aout 7.20 this evening (Sun).
Turned out to be the Red Arrows after a display over Blackpool.

Over us at 7.20, back at base in Lincolnshire at 7.49 !

Can we borrow them for away matches ?

You can parachute over the ground at Lincoln.

They used to be based at Scampton RAF base in Lincolnshire. Incidentally this is where the Dambusters flew from to attack German Dam infrastructure in WW2. Proud to say that I was briefly assigned to this airbase over 30 years ago and resided in the same houses used by the Dambuster crews leading up to the attacks. Incredible experience and an honour just to live in the same houses as so many brave men some 40 years previous! Many never came back.

Think Scampton is now closed and the arrows are at RAF Waddington.

Went to the air show today and although the Spitfire, Lancaster Bomber and Red Arrows all made an appearance the highlight as always for me was the Typhoon which was up first. What an awesome display of power. Sounds like thunder. Could you hear it in Morecambe?

I heard that, but couldn't be bothered to go & have a look!
The Red Arrows are still based at Scampton, BTW.
