The crisis in refereeing

The performance of today’s referee showed what a crisis we have in referees. Mr Speedie had a poor game and showed a distinct bias towards Salford. It wasn’t a dirty game and both teams competed but Mr Speedie booked 4 Morecambe players and how many Salford players???? None. Fouls by shrimps players were dealt with by a booking. Fouls by Salford players brought about free kicks but absolutely no cards. It seems to have been a regular feature of this season where refs have dealt with us strictly but largely ignored the misdemeanours of the opposition. I confess I don’t know what to do but somehow we have to improve the quality of the refereeing and ensure refs are impartial and not biased in their decision making.

Probably the reason Karl Robinson thought he was a good ref in his interview

Strange how we see it. I thought he had an excellent first half. He lost it a bit for twenty minutes in the second, but otherwise, I don't think he got much wrong. I didn't disagree with any of the yellow cards for us, and wasn't particularly calling for any yellows for them.

The one that I recall he blatantly missed was when our player went to take a throw and their lad punched the ball out of his hand so we couldn’t take it quickly. Ref clearly saw it but didn’t take any action - yellow all day long.

Not that any of this really matters one bit  :(
