If Jason had accepted the offer from the American which was more than the club was worth then I believe we'd be a stable league 2 club

Do we actually know for a fact that an American bid for club and probably of even greater interest what the price Jason wants and what was offered.

I don't think we will ever know it's sale value irrespective of when it is sold in the very very near future .

For myself a value circa £2.5 million is realistic. :?: :?: :?:

once again you detract from the topic --- its not about whether a bid wasnt or was offered and how much-- we have covered than on here many times over

I was commenting on the post about a so called American bid and it's unknown value. . What is the harm in that.

Confidentiality is important to me so you have my respect for not divulging any details of the American bid and the value JW has placed on our club.

The Trust at the time put a statement out The name was never released or the figures but i could say it was a bid that I'm sure is nowhere near now. If it is I'd be shocked

That could be either more or less. I suspect the new bid is less hence the annoyance with JW.

Returning to the actual question, it is an interesting one. Obviously, it is all speculation, but in the absence of anything concrete to discuss...

It is easy to forget the chaos at the club that went before Whittingham's involvement. A Brazilian buying the club without any finances, an Italian found asleep in the Board Room because he didn't have the money for a hotel, who also wanted to build an underwater casino, a Kuwaiti (or Qatari?) student who supported Morecambe because he'd played us on FIFA, wages unpaid... and on, and on...

So yes, there is a reasonably high likelihood that we'd have gone out of business by now. I think promotion to League One had as much to do with COVID as anything else. Games played in empty stadiums and some bigger clubs were arguably impacted financially, more than we were. It was still a brilliant achievement, but I think external influences had a huge influence.

Basically, yes, they brought some much needed stability to the club for a period, but then the chaos returned. Someone must be writing a book...

Talk about selective quote, out of context!

"It was still a brilliant achievement, but I think external influences had a huge influence".

Are you genuinely saying that playing in empty stadiums didn't make a difference?
