I was looking forward to revisiting Southend, but most will want Oldham for the convenience.

Southend is a great away day /weekend .

The walk up the hill to FGR is poo

Boxing Day fixtures will be interesting this year... Looks like we could possibly get Halifax, Rochdale or Altrincham

Carlisle will probably get Gateshead
Scunthorpe will probably get Hartlpool

The league is looking for a new sponsor after the Vanarama deal ends after the Oldham v Southend final.

North / South split is not too bad

Should get some good followings from Carlisle, Hartlepool, Scunthorpe, Rochdale, Halifax and York

She's absolutely right but I think the play offs are unfair anyway. I know they give the fans a day out at Wembley and supply more funds to the teams but as the league places are the results of the whole season it should be on league position.

That's a long time to wait until the fixtures. Another downside of relegation. Haha

Just had a glance at the odds for next season. W Hill have York and Carlisle at 5/2 joint favourites, FG at 13/2 Rochdale at 8/1 Southend at 12/1 and us at 14/1. Can’t argue with Carlisle’s odds because I think they are a good thing for an instant return to the EFL. Not sure we should be fifth favourites though. Any thoughts anyone?

i’d like to think the Punjab Warriors will give Derek a better budget.

and it will be the usual 4-2-3-1 formation X 2 players for every position and typical 22 man squad with the odd youngster chucked in.

For starters, if they want to show commitment and get the fans on their side, sign a proper goalscorer even on a season long loan and make Adam Lewis sign up, the new guy would score hatfulls

It’s the Panjab Warriors taking over the club not the Punjab Warriors

Two totally different companies / groups

If we have money for a striker I'd put a bid in for Paul Blackett of South Shields

He's signed up for another 2 years, unlikely that will happen, I was thinking more David McGoldrick before he goes to MK Dons

Yup. Big difference.

Punjab Warriors have LOTS of money.
Panjab Warriors don't appear to have any money.

We're with the skint one. And anyway, Whittingham still owns the club.

How can the EFL have given the go ahead to Panjab Warriors if they're skint?

They misread the application and thought it was Punjab Warriors! :D

No idea. Perhaps they are wealthier than their little office and small internet footprint reveal? Perhaps they are fronting a group, which does contain people/businesses that have money? Perhaps an Indian version of Netflix are already signed up to do a documentary, and will be putting cash into the club? Perhaps they convinced Tyson Fury to be a silent partner? (Tyson, silent???   )

Or, perhaps the sale won't actually go through? Has the EFL actually said that they've approved it?

Hopefully, we will see the sale completed in the next few days and Panjab Warriers will then be able to reveal their backing for the club and positive plans for the future. In the meantime...

You're right. It's only statement that the EFL has approved the deal is written by Panjab Warriors themselves. No actual statement from the EFL or from the Board and nothing from the Trust. I think we deserve confirmation from the Board and a statement from the Trust as to their reading of the situation.

Mmm! It's only in the statement on the club website that Panjab Warriors themselves have said that the EFL has given clearance. No announcement by the EFL, no announcement by the Board and nothing from The Trust. I really think we deserve confirmation by the Board that this is the case.

Hopefully, we will see the sale completed in the next few days and Panjab Warriers will then be able to reveal their backing for the club and positive plans for the future. In the meantime...

It feels like there is a very strong connection between Whittingham & Momi and/or others closely involved. I get the impression there is more than simply selling an asset to someone/some entity that didn't have a previous relationship. May be completely wrong, but that's what it feels like.

I don't expect them to put any meaningful amount of money in, at least not straight away. The shrimps trust reported that Jason agreed a budget that will be roughly mid table and Panjab indicated they won't be increasing it.

It would be promising if they could allocate some funds to other areas of the club though. Stadium improvements, academy etc. Changes that can benefit us financially in the long run. They must have some kind of plan to stop us losing a million quid every year.
