Is today the EFL AGM?

Unless somebody pulls a rabbit out of a hat, it looks like the sale won’t conclude under the EFLs jurisdiction. The board don't seem to like providing a running commentary but it would probably be appropriate for some communication either today or tomorrow, explaining why the sale hasn’t managed to go through and what happens now (timescales for the FA process to take place). If the Trust still have a line of communication with Panjab, they need to be asked why they’ve failed to pass muster with the EFL and why the fans should have any confidence in them as prospective owners.

Did anyone seriously expect the sale to go through the EFL?

This sale has had plenty of time to get through the EFL fit and proper test. It appears that it hasn't. In which case why should any of us have belief in Panjab Warriors being the owners that we need despite what they say to the Board and the Trust?

I don’t think anyone is remotely surprised at this, but Panjab could have retained a small amount of credibility if they had - eventually - managed to pass the EFL test.

Onto the next chapter of this saga… we are all assuming they will become the owners once we’re formally in the NL but who knows, they might not even be able to pass the FA test :?

MFC(BoD, Staff) are good at starting rumours off, so it becomes like a game of Chinise Whispers!

The Board get criticised (correctly sometimes) for not giving enough information out but they can only pass on what they are told from JW and PW. Whether the Board believe what they are told is another matter. They can hardly say....'We have been told this by JW but we think he's lying', although there was the occasion last Summer when they did call him a liar. However, it's got to the state now where the vast majority of the fans on here ,with one or two exceptions, believe nothing that is said. A very sad but very understandable state of affairs.

Could well just be solicitors being slow at this point. But then that wouldn't be an issue if the sale had been completed in a timely fashion 6+ months ago, and not at the last minute with the EFL deadline looming!

7 June is the date we stop becoming an EFL member. Can only hope it gets done by this deadline both for some small assurances over Panjab Warriors, and to give people a few days to get in on the early bird deadline.

If it's not sorted before the 7th I could see the board getting some serious backlash. I naively thought it was looking like it would be done imminently, especially when they extended the early bird offer. If you renewed during that period under the pretense that it would be sorted this week then you'd have a right feel had off. Maybe today is the day?

The wording of the extension post actually referred to....."the takeover edging ever closer and the paperwork submitted to the solicitors for completion". No mention of the word imminently but I agree that imminently was how many people would read it and as it was included in the sales pitch it has to be how the writer intended it to be read. As I have said before, the Board may have had no input into the wording of the article.

I guess they can only pass on what they're told, it would feel unfair to hold it against them personally but I think that's what might happen

The article also said:-
‘there is no better time to secure your place at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium for the 2024-26 season’

Make of that what you will.

Unless Whittingham does so now or Panjab Warriors on becoming our new owners agree to extend the early bird ticket offer, maybe black morse has a point.

I prefer to wait for the sale to be announced by the EFL before my purchase of a season ticket even if it costs me in monetary terms or God forbid the sale does not happen and I don’t go to games anymore because Whittingham is still our owner.

My choice, my choice, but I’m perfectly fine with that.

maybe......just maybe

theres another issue with the valuation as pw have put money in previously maybe they thought that money was to come off the final figure and jw may have it down as,thats not the case so there could possibly be a issue there !!delaying the final outcome

Just noticed that it's the National leagues AGM on the 7th and the EFL's is the week after.
Still a bit confused.

EFL AGM is today, isn’t it?

Dave Salmon posted on X to that effect and he’s usually spot on with such details.

From the outside looking in it seems obvious that everything’s been delayed to avoid EFL scrutiny. The National League will approve any Tom, Dick or Harry.

Out of the frying pan, into the balti bowl for you guys, by the looks of it.

I agree with everything you say Dave but if a deal happens we have to give them a fair crack even tho it's clear that something isn't right.
Tom, Dick and Harry?
Not another Dick Whittington please

The never ending See-saw ride.
Like many we wait and wait until we get any news from anyone. The board, PW, EFL the Trust or National league. So we sit patiently waiting that the sale eventually gets over the line.
Only problem is we've been hearing the same thing for the last 2-3 years now.
Probably an announcement soon that it will be be in 2 weeks.......?
