Let's hope that first impressions can be the forerunner of a good partnership between the club fans and thevowners after what seems like a lifetime of Jason and his mind games. Really am surprised how both out Co Chairmen have stuck it for so long. Maybe it's because they love the place like most of us.

Could be purely coincidental but could it be that Panjab have bought us so that they could get also involved in the Eden Project ???

I think that was one of reasons for visiting. After they'd finish chatting with us they went over to SI Bellamy and the new product manager for Eden...

Can't imagine why the guys from the Panjab Warriors would have been at the club today if they weren't buying the club

Could they be thinking about the possibile increase in land values in Morecambe should the Eden Project finally complete? Or just checking out how the Mazuma is being used for these sort of functions?

It certainly shows a lot more commitment to Morecambe and Heysham than Rodders and Del Boy ever did so let's cut them some slack.

Call me naive but I do find this slightly encouraging. Did they give any indication as to whether the ink was dry yet??

That's one thing I didn't ask...but I doubt if they'd have told us anyway. But they are very keen to get involved in the club.

I wonder if that means we'll lose our present Board! Hope they don't interfere with Derek's plans .

There are many £millions to be dreamt up and spent on all manner of infrastructure leading to and from the proposed Eden Project site before Eden can happen. The Midland Hotel in it's current state of external disrepair carries on won't help matters.

Better use of the facilities will be the key to making the club viable, which will have to include making more use of existing facilities and changing/building new facilities such as the proposed Berlin Wall offices. However the site is developed, it needs big investment, but the returns could be there if it's done properly.

Crazy how the club has so much land/function space that's not used anywhere near enough.

Plenty of other clubs, even small ones, have space under the stands used daily, i.e. rented out to offices, hotel rooms, even NHS GP surgeries!

Yes, I know the W&L suite and some boxes are haphazardly used for functions such as corporate training and wakes, etc., but they should be getting used on an almost daily basis.

I'd hope the new owners also consider the potential of using event management firms to run the function rooms, catering, etc., again like other clubs do, so they'd have a ready market of established customers and reputation for corporate training and other events, etc. I've long said the club would probably make more cash by just renting out the entire W&L/boxes to a event management/catering company and letting them deal with the staffing, food & drink etc. - make it a passive income rather than having to have our own staff to manage and operate it. Lots of football, rugby and other sports stadia do it that way, as do lots of country houses - they have central "head office" functions that deal with all their venues, i.e. marketing, admin, staffing, supplies, etc., which means that they get top staff doing the admin & management and all the benefits of economies of scale.

I know someone that didn't choose their wedding at the Mazuma because of all the uncertainty. Let's get back to making it the best venue in North Lancashire.

The development of the ground needs to produce more income I agree but if plans are to get Morecambe FC back up into the EFL development plans have to incorporate making the ground a better experience for the fans and invest in the team.

I’m sure there will be lots of ideas floating around, for me an initial way to approach upgrading facilities is to make the Berlin Wall what it should have been when Morecambe FC moved to Westgate and that’s a proper all seater stand with a roof.

The second part is to utilise the area in front of the stadium by making the downstairs lounge bigger and getting the fans to go there pre matches, spending money at Morecambe FC and not the surrounding places around Morecambe.

Lastly sorting out the rough land between the Stadium and Westgate down and perhaps making the fan experience start in that area.

I agree bringing in income streams at the stadium through the different ideas that are being floated are also important tying things in with the Eden Project needs to be activated with caution, the Eden Project is still a project more than a given. Hope it happens and it’s successful but a long way off yet unfortunately.

I don't think developing the Berlin wall should be a priority unless it includes some kind of event space or other additional revenue stream. It does look a bit rough currently but it's not like we sell out so any seats there would likely go unused for the foreseeable.

Definitely agree there should be a focus on development to the front of the stadium. Expansion to JB's and/or add a fanzone to pinch some business away from the Hurley.

We've got event space that is under-utilised as it is.

I kind of agree, but again, we should make better use of the facilities that we already have. I've said before, I think we fail to make use of the Wright & Lord suite on match days. I'd suggest a 'Happy Hour' in JB's directly after the final whistle. Then 45 minutes or so later, have another 'Happy Hour' in the W&L suite. That allows time for people to leave, before more people come up, avoiding a potential crush on stairs. Or, use the fire escape to go up, normal stairs to go down?

Have the MotM award, interview with the manager, a band, perhaps highlights of the game. There is a large space that is practically empty. The last time I saw a MotM award, there were probably twenty people there. Obviously, if there is a function on, that's not possible, but we could and should do more with what we have already.

Be even less in the Local Choice for M.O.M. etc , don't know anyone who has elected to pay the £100 on top of their season ticket to go in!

Maybe they are just encouraging over 65's to use it

500 drinks to get that back at 5% discount
Enjoy yourself.... It is later than you think
