Funny. They'd still use different solicitors within the firm with "chinese walls" in place to maintain independence and confidentiality, as one solicitor can't act for both sides to any matter due to risk of bias and breaching confidentiality. I've used the same firm a couple of times when I've been on "both sides" of a transaction, and I can guarantee it doesn't make them any quicker. They still "lie" about the "other party" to excuse their mistakes and slow service, even if the "other party" is the same person!

One was when I was buying a property from an elderly relative. The relative let me do all the work as they were ill and couldn't cope, so they'd show me letters from their solicitor and ask me how to respond, where to sign etc., and for my side, as the buyer, a different solicitor in the same firm was writing to me, etc. Quite funny when the relative passed me a letter from his solicitor saying how it was my fault that a certain document hadn't been completed - when I knew for a fact that I'd done it and sent it back, and gave my solicitor a right ear bashing because he'd lost it yet was telling his colleague in a different room that I'd not sent it back!

Similar happened when I bought (personally) my small office that my self managed pension fund previously owned. Again, I was on both sides, and the same happened with different solicitors in the same building blaming eachother and then me for their cock-ups.

I actually think different solicitors in different firms is more likely to work better. Certainly if one is inefficient or incompetent the other firm's solicitors is more likely to flag it up rather than "hide" the mistakes of a colleague working in the same firm!

    There is certainly an art to being a property solicitor. You must be so bloody hard faced to lie so easily and drag things out, well that’s just solicitors in general. When I got divorced……… lol no don’t start me off

Why do we consistently have a communications problem? It's not the media teams fault, they can only do as told. We have done this for years upon years now - leave fans in the dark for as long as possible. It creates an information vacuum where rumors, Chinese whispers and frustration runs rampant.

I’m sure you took the information and passed it on in good faith and I’m also sure that it won’t be the fault of your source, as with everything that’s gone on since Whittingham put the Club up for sale everything goes back to him and his intolerable ownership of the Club. We shouldn’t be beating ourselves up or each other about him it’s a total waste of energy and falls into his hands.

We should all carry on caring about the Club, we are all fans.

I know I said both of those journalists are somewhat reliable but you'd imagine if he was being sacked we'd have heard about it by now. Nixon used the word imminently and O'Rourke said next 24 hours (19 hours ago).

As we still haven't heard anything maybe they're all on holiday (with a do not disturb label on the door).

So more than 24 hours have passed. DA is still here. Yet there's been no communication from the club regarding this. Furthermore. No takeover has been confirmed.

Feel so distant from the club at present

What about when they don’t happen? Why let a rumour like the manager be sacked run, unless they think that’s OK.

It’s not the first example when you go back over Whittingham antics and rumours have been true and the Club in the end have had to make a statement.

We don’t know if the rumour of a monetary disagreement between Whittingham & Panjab Warriors are true
or it’s just solicitors holding things up?

Ok maybe the rumour about Derek might not be true but we’re is the inclusivity with keeping fans informed? I just hope they don’t get upset over it!

I cannot see why, if it has been decided to sack Derek, there would be a delay in announcing it. If there is no announcement today I reckon it's a load of rubbish.

The radio silence from the club has been nothing short of pathetic. I'm at the point where I openly welcome an overhaul of those at the top - they're completely out of touch with modern means of communication if they think the last 10 days of rumours and speculation doesn't need addressing.

It's not 2005 anymore. They can't just pretend fans work themselves up because of hearsay. You squash rumours by addressing them.

We accept that there are some aspects of the sale which cannot be revealed at present BUT why can't the Board just give us an update on the manager's job?????? It either has or it hasn't been decided to sack him.
(Unless he hasn't been told yet......which I can't believe.

I can kind of understand why the club hasn't put a statement out. If they did they would end up having to answer every single rumour that some 'source' has started on the internet.

My son came home from school yesterday and said his friend (who has a relative who is very well known and involved in one of our local teams) told him Derek had been sacked.

Could well be in the process of happening and they're not yet ready to officially confirm with a statement. You can't really come out and quell the rumours if that's the case.

Other possibilities are that it's nonsense and the club (somewhat understandably) don't want to bother with Alan Nixon rumours, or it was happening but there's been a U-turn.

Either way, clarity is needed quickly - less than two weeks until pre-season training starts (theoretically).

My concern is that the rumours are possibly true and Panjab have indicated that they will be getting rid of Derek, but it can’t be announced because they haven’t completed the sale yet. Which would explain the silence - the board can’t confirm or deny.

If the sale is literally going to conclude by close of play tomorrow (Friday) then fine but if it’s not going to happen within that timeframe then somebody should be providing an update.

Word is that they're waiting for the new manager appointment paperwork to be completed and signed as they don't want to announce Derek being sacked without announcing a new manager.

That’s part of what’s this forum is about, isn’t it?

The Derek situation does seem a bit illogical to do it when things starting to come together, just getting Whittingham gone and we are in a good place to go again.

Tend to agree with black morse a bit, but nothing really can surprise us if we are all honest.
