I think it's been mentioned in the past that whoever owns the club the budget for 2025 - 2026 will be the same

Hope they get back to you soon after conformation that its true or not, if Derek in the dark, we cannot rely on the Club it seems to Lear it all up, so it’s down to your source.

I understand that the BoDs have advised the potential new owners that DA has to be kept on a manager as they belive in him being the only logical manager of the club going forward particularly when he is in the difficult process of putting together a squad that will be competitive this season.

And I for one believe this and agree it is entirely the right way to go.

Right Keith....the next time anyone posts an Alan Nixon forecast on here they should be banned for life

I think it's pretty disrespectful to Derek if he is to be dismissed like this. Especially given that his task of survival would have been made much more feasible if the takeover had been sorted in good time last summer, or even over the autumn.

My concern is also that at this point, it's an issue from a footballing/squad building perspective as well. If there's a post season manager change then ideally you really need it done by the start of June. If Derek is being let go then we'd have to go through the managerial hiring process, get the manager in, and then be suffering yet another massive delay in assembling a squad. Also, does Derek already have players lined up to come in? How far along are those deals? What will happen to those deals now?

Just crap footballing strategy. If things don't work out between Panjab and Derek after six months/a year, fine. But to get rid of him now would be really stupid in a footballing/squad building sense, not to mention it would also piss off a lot of the fanbase. If you're an incoming owner, why make life difficult for yourself like that? Hopefully the rumours don't materialise but I think to have Nixon and O'Rourke reporting doesn't bode hugely well.

So, he hasn't been sacked as he knows nothing about it. Shall we move on now?

Somebody has been making mishieve and the culprit could well be...

[Edit: Not sure if this could be construed as libellous, and would rather not find out!]

...I wonder if he has been talking to the media guy concerned and between them have concocted this story...

Was that the same source that said the club was about to be sold & Derek sacked?

Kept in the dark and... ...you know the rest.

Nixon is very annoying as he has always seems to revel in breaking bad news when it comes to Morecambe. He really stirred the pot and was most likely taking a back hander to help Stockton engineer a move. Could be a similar situation here, potentially a way of testing the waters to see the reaction. I don't like the bloke but there is generally always some substance behind his reports.

I'm starting to think O'Rourke doesn't have any additional insight and has just copied Nixon.

Surprised that this news hasn't been picked up by both the EFL and National League News forums which may suggest that it is fake news and that DA is and will remain our manager going forward despite actions by certain media personnel and their contacts to create an atmosphere of uncertainty and concern within the club's fan base.

The actions of a certain individual who was overlooked by DA in his choice of Assistant Manager may have been a contributing factor to the fake news.

Does that have any backing or just speculation it's come from him? Would be a bit funny. He's always so bitter on BBCLancs

Overlooked for assistant manager... ...speculation.
Contributing to fake news... ...wild speculation.
Bitter contributions to Radio Blackbum... ...definitely.

With Derek's contribution to Baz's farewell from the club on the OWS it at least shows he's still with us at present.
