he picked up a slight injury hence the substitution we now know from lills post match interview
lills was disappointed the gifted a late equaliser when they should have killed the game off
all the lads looked really down after the game lets pick them all up for friday
lets hope we get a great gate friday big atmosphere and some points

I think Duffy cost us the match tonight, not because of his abysmal penalty kick (again) but because of his inability in chasing back and helping the fullback out, both there goals came from our right side, he is very lazy in my opinion, and please dont let him anywhere near a penalty kick again.

Really impressed by Hunter last night, one of the best games I can remember from him in a Morecambe shirt.

I didn't catch what Kavanagh did that laid Garry out in the first half, anyone else relate what happened.

Super performance by Curtis up top as well. The 4-4-2 worked really well I think, Artell and Bentley looking as impressive as when we first came into the league. Hope we can keep it up on Friday.

Good to see GH back, he might not be the best footballer but he gets stuck in, he won the tackle on the half way line then carried on forward then put the ball in the net for the first goal, got some crunching tackles in, would like to see him in the team on friday night ??

It's all very well talking about being constructive, but football is about WINNING and we're not doing that. No use blaming anyone in the shoot out - we all know they're a lottery. What we can blame is - yet again!!! - lack of concentration at the back. We're leaking like a sieve and need a defence we can rely on. We haven't got one. This was the Hereford story all over again and we can't afford that in the league. If something isn't sorted out soon this will be a long, hard season.

Great to see Gary Hunter back, but why did Roche come off? Hope that isn't an injury, if it is we really are up the proverbial without a paddle.

Think Kavanagh lost his rag because Gary had taken the ball off him about three times in ten minutes so scissored his legs in a tackle.

Duffy looked good last night. But only for about ten minutes when he moved inside to play just behind the front two. To my mind he either plays there or not at all at the moment. If we're looking for a right-sided midfielder we need someone stronger. Otherwise he comes off the bench against tired legs.

I thought GH had a stormer last night for an hour then tired.

Sammy has talked about us needing to be better when we haven't got the ball and Gary brought us that last night.

He and Panther could win the ball for us leaving Craney to create more up front.

Drummy has been doing okay but doesn't work as hard off the ball IMO. It gives Sammy something to think about.

Wayne proved he still has a place in the squad and Twissy (his glaring miss apart - which could cost him his place on Friday if Sammy fancies the Mullin/Jevons partnership) worked very hard again holding the ball up well and starting attacks.

One thing. This IS comfortably the best squad we've ever had (IMO) - now they have to start proving it!

Stanners worked hard for most of the night but - as has been said - can't EXPECT to start every game now.

Friday's selection will be very interesting.

It IS about winning - but for Sammy it's about winning in the League. He took a calculated risk last night with his substitutions and it didn't come off. But Friday will be more important to him.

If Rochey did have a knock then it was right to bring him off.

I didn't see us leaking like a seive at Chesterfield OR last night. Both sides (good ones) had to work hard to create their chances.

The only game we've leaked goals (in the League) was Burton when Bentley was playing a game earlier than he should have been.

Now he's back and fit we've looked okay in defence.

I personally felt the overall performance was one to be proud of, we really played well throughout the game we deserved a win!!!

I thought GH played his socks off, I was also very impressed when Parrish came on he kept running at there players and created more chances. (Something that is needed IMO)

There were a couple of players in the team last night that need more match practise but feel overall it was a 8.5/10 performance, roll on Friday!!

Against what was basically a Carlisle Youth team we underperformed and never seriously tested their 3rd choice goalkeeper.

Too much space given away in midfield and once again the lack of closing down costed us their first goal. The only positive thing to come out of last night was the performance of Gary Hunter. MrT looked completely off the pace and Stanners did what he usually does...side ways passes in the main. No creativity in midfield and what was all that about in terms of changing goalkeepers?

One isolated striker up front and at home......

Of the players who took to the pitch for Carlisle last night, either starting or coming on as subs, 11 were involved (either starting or on the bench) at Orient on Saturday.

So they were almost ALL first team squad players, with a couple of youngsters thrown in for the experience.

And Wayne didn't play as a lone striker. Twissy sat a little bit deeper, presumably to see how he played off a target man, but was still on the pitch as a striker.

The rest of your comments (which I don't agree with, I think there were some decent performances) should therefore be considered in the context of your 'Carlisle youth team' remark being, how can I put this tactfully, oh, go on then - utter tosh!

Like shrimper I have picked on this ridiculous "Carlisle Youth team" comment by CC. Firstly, I think that the Paint Pot Cup fixtures require a certain percentage of players who were involved in the squad for the previous league fixture (could be wrong on that), which stops you putting out a youth team.

Here is the squad Carlisle squad that played against Leyton Orient:

Pidgeley, Raven, Livesey, Murphy (Offiong 87), Harte, Hurst, Taiwo (Kavanagh 68), Thirlwell, Robson, Anyinsah, Dobie (Madine 81)

Subs (not used) - Collin, Horwood, Rothery, Kane

Here is the Carlisle squad that played last night:

Collin; Kane, Raven, Murphy, Horwood; Hurst, Kavanagh, Burns (rep Harte 90), Robson (rep Rothery 66); Madine, Offiong (rep Anyinsah 73)

Subs not used: Pidgeley, Tinnion.

Don't know many clubs who give their third choice keeper the number 1 jersey, especially clubs with only two keepers on their books.

Collin is our second choice goalkeeper, Pidgeley is the first choice.

Only other keepers we have are two in the youth team.

Pidgeley requested the number 40 shirt, so Collin took number 1.

Anyway, for what its worth a competitive game last night, well worth the admission price for all you stay aways. 2,016 in attendance with 645 from Carlisle. Am I the only one who thought that there looked and sounded as though their were many more Cumbrians than shrimps?

I think this shows what a good well balanced person you are (and we have never met) to admit you were wrong. I believe that deserves respect so good on you, Christie's Child and I think it would be interesting to see you take a penalty in a Shrimps shirt at the North Stand end before the next home match so you can receive your deserved accolade, and no, I really am not being sarcastic even though it might sound like that.
